Old-fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies

These old-fashioned peanut butter cookies are the most perfect snack. This is an old recipe that is my go-to for great peanut butter cookies and they really are so good. Use natural peanut butter with no sugar. If your peanut butter is salted, you may want to use a bit less salt in the recipe. You’ll also need to make sure you stir the peanut butter really well before measuring.

With almost all my cookies, I chill the dough before baking. The exception is these peanut butter cookies. That isn’t to say that you shouldn’t chill the dough, because chilling the dough brings out more flavor and helps the cookies hold their shape. But, if you want cookies right away, with this recipe, you won’t need to chill the dough. Due to using shortening, these cookies will hold their shape very well.
